The Great Wave off Kanagawa (神奈川沖浪裏, Kanagawa-oki nami ura) is an iconic woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾北斎), circa 1829 to 1833 in the late Edo period. To date, this remains as Hokusai's most famous piece of work and has been one of the most recognisable works of Japanese Art in the world.
Given the rich history and origin of Hokusai and SEIKO, this is a perfectly paired appreciation of art and horology.
This SEIKO 5 SNKL15 is an automatic self-winding mechanical watch featuring a 38mm diameter stainless stain case modified with (i) The Great Wave off Kanagawa dial, (ii) double domed & double sided coated blue AR sapphire crystal and (iii) blue vintage Italian calf leather strap.
